'Cats Host No. 48 Memphis in Non-Conference Finale

EVANSTON, Ill. - Women's tennis will look to stay undefeated at home on Friday when they host No. 48 Memphis at Combe Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
No. 53 Northwestern (8-4) is coming off of a weekend split of matches in Arkansas, where they defeated No. 46 Kansas but narrowly fell to No. 64 Arkansas.
Against Kansas, the Wildcats picked up an early lead with two doubles wins and the first point. Despite dropping one singles match, the team recovered nicely and won the next three singles matches, all in straight sets, to get to four points. The following day, despite singles victories from Christina Hand and Kiley Rabjohns, the 'Cats couldn't hold on against Arkansas.
Memphis (9-4) heads to Evanston following a Sunday loss to No. 50 Utah - their fourth loss of the season and the first at home. Prior to that match, the Tigers had defeated five straight opponents.
Friday's action wraps up non-conference play for Northwestern. The 'Cats will return home after a short break to kick off the Big Ten portion of their schedule versus Rutgers at noon on March 16.
