NATIONAL CHAMPS: Northwestern Field Hockey Wins 2024 NCAA Title

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Behind five first half goals, the Northwestern field hockey team won its second national championship in four seasons, defeating St. Joseph's 5-0 at Ocker Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats, who have reached the national championship game in four straight years, compiled their best season in program history finishing with a 23-1 record, setting a single-season school record for wins in a season.
Wildcat goalkeeper Annabel Skubisz recorded her 14th shutout of the season, a single-season school record which ranked tied for seventh in NCAA history. Northwestern received two goals apiece from Maddie Zimmer and Ilse Tromp and a single goal from Olivia Bent-Cole. Zimmer and Tromp are the second duo in NCAA history to each score multiple goals in the national title game.
Zimmer was named the most outstanding player of the tournament and was joined on the all-tournament team by Lauren Wadas, Ashley Sessa and Tromp.
