Northwestern's Late Rally Not Enough in 75-69 Setback at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – After trailing by 11 with 9:32 remaining in the contest, Northwestern was able to tie the game at 65 with 3:57 remaining, but could not take the lead in a 75-69 loss at Nebraska. Brooks Barnhizer scored a game and career-high 24 points.
Along with his 24 points, Barnhizer also chipped in seven rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks. Barnhizer has tallied eight steals over the last two games, moving him into second place on the Big Ten steals leaderboard (37).
Ryan Langborg added 15 points, five rebounds, four steals, and four assists. Langborg scored Northwestern's first six points of the game on back-to-back three-pointers. With his second three-point field goal, Langborg eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career.
Northwestern dished out 17 assists while turning the ball over just seven times. The Wildcats also forced 18 Nebraska turnovers, the second-most committed by the Huskers in a single-game this season. NU held a 17-3 advantage in points off turnovers.

Nebraska used a 9-0 run in the early stages of the first half to take a 20-16 lead with 11:02 remaining in the first half. Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the half, with Nebraska taking a 39-35 lead into the locker room.
Nebraska kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 65-54 advantage before Northwestern went on an 11-0 run to tie the game with 3:57 to go in the contest. Nebraska responded and outscored the Wildcats the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 75-69.
