KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Northwestern men's basketball as a recipient of the 2024 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award with five student-athletes earning NABC Honors Court recognition.

Blake Preston, Boo Buie, Brooks Barnhizer, Ryan Langborg and Ty Berry were named to the Honors Court, which includes junior, senior and graduate students who finished the 2023-24 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

"The NABC is proud to celebrate these accomplished student-athletes, along with the coaches and staff who champion success in the classroom," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is a core value of the NABC, and the teams and athletes who earned these awards are proof that academic achievement remains a priority across every level of our sport."
Last season, Northwestern finished third in the Big Ten Conference, tying a single-season school-record by winning 12 games in conference play. Under the leadership of Sullivan-Ubben Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Collins, the 'Cats reached the NCAA Tournament's Second Round for the second straight season and finished with a 22-12 record.
