EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 18 Northwestern welcomes No. 19 Michigan to Martin Stadium for its Big Ten home opener on Thursday night. Kickoff from Martin Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on B1G+.

Last time out, Northwestern downed Purdue 1-0 in its Big Ten opener behind a 57th minute free kick goal from Caterina Regazzoni.

NU is unbeaten through nine games for the first time since 2016. With a result, the Wildcats would be unbeaten through 10 games for the first time since 1998.

Northwestern's 28 goals are the most through nine games in program history. The Wildcats rank eighth nationally in scoring offense, averaging 3.11 goals per game.

Five different Wildcats have notched a goal and an assist in the same game this season (Aulicino, Boade, del Carmen, Hase, Norkett). Boade has done so four times (at Marquette, vs. Boston U, at Vanderbilt, at Virginia Tech). Aulicino (at Marquette, vs. Oakland) and Hase (at Marquette, vs. Weber State) have done so twice.

Meg Boade ranks first in the Big Ten and second nationally with nine assists.

Emma Phillips leads all Wildcats with 801 out of 810 possible minutes played.

Thursday's matchup will mark the 29th all-time meeting between Northwestern and Michigan on the pitch. The Wolverines hold a 14-8-6 advantage all-time in the series. Northwestern took down Michigan 3-0 last year behind goals from Caterina Regazzoni, Aurea del Carmen, and Ella Hase.

Michigan enters the matchup at 5-1-2, having defeated Minnesota most recently in its Big Ten lidlifter. The Wolverines are paced offensively by Sammi Woods with four goals and an assist. Reigning Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week Stephanie Sparkowski handles goalkeeping duties for UM.

Following Thursday night's contest, Northwestern continues Big Ten play on Sunday at Indiana at Noon CT on B1G+.
