Swimming and Diving Welcomes Two New Staff Members

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Swimming and Diving has announced the addition of Margaret Howe and Jacob Siar to its coaching staff, Head Coach Rachel Stratton-Mills announced Monday.
Howe joins the 'Cats after seven seasons at Providence. During her time with the Friars, Howe served as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Prior to her time at Providence, she was the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving at St. Joseph's College (Maine).
A two-time All-ACC Honor Roll Athlete and four-time Eagle Award Academic Award Winner, Howe graduated from Boston College in 2010.
Siar arrives in Evanston after serving as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Army. In his six seasons in West Point, Siar saw the Black Knights men's team finish second at Patriot League Championships each year, while the women's team placed second three times in his time at West Point.
As a student-athlete, Siar attended Auburn and N.C. State. At N.C. State, he was a member of the 2015 and 2016 teams that won back-to-back ACC Championships, while the 2016 team placed fourth at NCAA Championships. Siar competed in the 200 backstroke at U.S. Olympic Trials in 2012 and 2016 and competed in the 100 backstroke at 2016 Olympic Trials.
Howe and Siar will join the Northwestern Swimming and Diving staff ahead of the 2023 season.
