EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer has announced the addition of Jennie Clark to its staff as an assistant coach.
Clark joins Northwestern after previously serving as the first assistant coach for Minnesota Aurora FC, helping lead the side to a 12-0-0 regular season and berth in the USL W League Quarterfinals.
Previously, Clark had served as an assistant coach at Utah Tech for two seasons. Clark helped the program transition from Division II to Division I, coaching seven All-WAC honorees during her two years with the Trailblazers.
Clark holds her B License from the United States Soccer Federation.
Clark played professionally for five years, starting her career with Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer. Following her season with Sky Blue, Clark moved to Germany where she played for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig, SC Freiburg, and 1. FFC Frankfurt in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
As a student-athlete, Clark played at the University of Minnesota, where she was a team captain in her junior and senior seasons. In Clark's four years in Minneapolis, the Golden Gophers made two NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to the Third Round both times. During the 2008 season, Clark anchored the back line that set a single-season program record with just 12 goals allowed. Clark was a SoccerBuzz All-American, two-time All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Academic-All Big Ten recipient, and was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list.
Clark will join the Wildcats on the sidelines for the 2023 season, which begins with an exhibition contest at UIC on Sunday, August 6 at 4 p.m. CT. Northwestern opens up its regular season slate at Marquette on Thursday, August 17.
