FRANKLIN, Wis. – The Wildcats will head to Wisconsin and prepare to face the Panthers for the second half of a home-and-home matchup on Tuesday at Franklin Field. First pitch between the two teams is set for 6:30 p.m.

Northwestern (8-34) has won each of their last three non-conference games, including their first game against Milwaukee (21-24) last month. The 'Cats claimed a 10-0 victory by run rule over the Panthers on April 25, extending their winning streak against Milwaukee to three games, dating back to 2019. Tuesday's game will be their final midweek matchup on the road.

Despite dropping all three to Indiana over the weekend, the 'Cats got standout performances from several players, beginning with their starting pitchers. On Friday, Michael Farinelli went a season-high 7.2 innings, allowing four runs on six hits. Sam Garewal followed up with a quality start on Saturday, tossing 6.1 shutout innings while limiting the Hoosiers to just five baserunners.

When it came to the bullpen, the group covered 13.0 innings and allowed seven runs. David Utagawa continued his success, pitching on both Saturday and Sunday for a total of one hitless, scoreless inning, while Kellen Pate and Grant Comstock stepped up with scoreless outings as well.

On the offensive side, the Wildcats got production from all parts of the lineup. Eight players collected hits on Friday, five got at least one hit on Saturday and seven contributed hits on Sunday. Bennett Markinson and Cooper Foard both hit safely in all three games of the weekend series, logging an RBI apiece.

Milwaukee has gone 2-6 since last meeting the 'Cats. Most recently, they dropped two of three to Oakland over the weekend in Franklin.

After leaving Milwaukee, Northwestern will get set for their final road series of the season at Michigan. Once they've faced off with the Wolverines, the 'Cats will head to the Friendly Confines to host Notre Dame on Tuesday, May 16.
