"Looking at Each Other " - By Sydney Supple

As we sat together as a team on Tuesday, reflecting on the weekend, someone brought up a point that I believe makes all the difference in the world. While people are looking into our dugout, all our dugout is looking at is each other.
To us as a team, it truly does not make a difference who is on the other side of the lines. We respect every opponent, but we remain obsessed with only focusing on what we can control, which is ourselves and each other. The game is serving us right now as we continue to serve it, by being good to the people around us.
Wisconsin was a full-circle moment for me as I stepped back on the field where I threw my last pitch in high school to win the 2019 Wisconsin State Championship. I was overcome with emotion as I looked into the stands to see the same loved ones who were there for me four years prior. This past weekend was a celebration of the journey we've been on together and the people beside me who have made it possible. Playing at this level does not happen by yourself, the phrase it takes a village could not be any more accurate.
For every person who has ever played college softball, it was made possible due to the sacrifices, commitment, support, and dedication of their family, friends, and coaches.
This weekend was my hometown tour to first show my team a piece of my heart at my parent's restaurant, showcasing my hometown and having them be surrounded by my family. That doesn't happen without coaches who are equally invested in who we are as a person to who we are as a team to seek out those opportunities and take a detour to make it happen. Along with that, this weekend was my time to say thank you to the people who stood by me on this field at eighteen years old and have continued to stand beside me now at twenty-two. You all are my rocks. I love you.

Now for the fun part, another series sweeeeepppp!! They never get old, let me tell you, because each weekend brings on a unique challenge. Two weekends ago, we put up runs galore, and this weekend, we were challenged at the plate, which allowed our pitching and defense to show their resilience.
In the words of Cami Henry, every game we have a new HERO on the team. When you have a team that constantly has new people stepping up to get the job done, is when you know you have something special.
Now it is time to put all of our hustle, heart, and passion into Michigan. This series is historically a battle filled with two respected programs led by incredible coaches and that remains the same this season. Like always, we are excited and hungry for the challenge.
Sincerely,
Sydney Supple #26
