EVANSTON, Ill. – Made possible by the remarkable generosity of the Ryan family, Northwestern has purchased hundreds of tickets for Friday night's Big Ten Men's Basketball Quarterfinal at the United Center and will distribute them to currently enrolled undergraduate students (with valid Wildcard) at no cost on Friday morning.

The second-seeded Wildcats earned a coveted double-bye in the Tournament and are scheduled to tip off Friday at 5:30pm CT against the winner of Thursday's matchup between Illinois and Penn State. The Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is back in Chicago for the first time since 2019, with all the action taking place at the home of the NBA's Bulls and NHL's Blackhawks just 13 miles south of Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Undergraduate student tickets will be distributed at the Norris University Center on Friday, March 10, and details have been communicated directly to students via email. Wildcards and enrolled student status will be verified at pickup.

Northwestern enters the postseason after the most successful regular-season in program history. On Tuesday, Sullivan-Ubben head men's basketball coach Chris Collins was honored as the 2023 Big Ten Coach of the Year, Chase Audige was recognized as the Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, Boo Buie earned First Team All-Big Ten accolades, and Chris Lowery was announced as the inaugural winner of the Howard Moore Assistant Coach of the Year Award. Welsh-Ryan Arena was sold out for the final five games of the campaign, during which record-breaking student attendance created one of the most exciting atmospheres anywhere in college basketball.

The Ryan family [Pat '59, '09 H ('97, '00 P) and Shirley '61, '19 H ('97, '00 P); Pat '97 JD, MBA and Lydia; Rob '00 JD, MBA and Jennifer; and Corbett] has made deep and broad philanthropic investments across the institution including nanotechnology, the musical arts, the Ryan Family Scholars Program for high-achieving, low-income students with exceptional leadership potential, and the ongoing efforts to Rebuild Ryan Field.
