'Cats Steamroll Youngstown State in Senior Day Win

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern pulled talent from all over the roster in a 24-3 victory over Youngstown State on Senior Day that saw 10 different 'Cats score. With the win, Northwestern's record improves to 5-1.
The Wildcats dominated from the jump, rattling off a 7-0 run to start the game. By the end of the first quarter, Dylan Amonte, Erin Coykendall and Hailey Rhatigan all completed hat tricks and Northwestern commanded a 13-1 lead.
Rhatigan led the 'Cats with five goals and Amonte followed with four. Coykendall also added a game high five assists.
Kiera Shanley also completed a hat trick, setting a new career high. Two other 'Cats added multiple goals with Madison Taylor and Maddy Balter netting two.
Eve Hritzuk, Lucy Munro, Carli Fleisher, Daniella Stroup and Jane Hansen also made it between the pipes. Hansen's goal was her first of the season and Stroup managed to net the first goal of her career to end the game.

Cara Nugent and Francesca Argentieri impressed on the other end of the field, combining for eight saves on just two goals allowed.

The Wildcats will be back at Ryan Fieldhouse tomorrow for a top 10 match up with No. 5 Stony Brook at 7 p.m. CT on Friday.
