Northwestern Draws Boise State In NCAA Tournament First Round

EVANSTON, Ill. – Making just its second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, Northwestern men's basketball (21-11, 12-8 B1G) will take on Boise State in an NCAA Tournament First Round game on Thursday in Sacramento. The winner of the matchup between the 7-seeded Wildcats and 10-seeded Broncos will advance on to take on the winner of the matchup featuring No. 2 UCLA and No. 15 UNC Asheville. The matchup will tip off at 6:35 p.m. CT on truTV, with Brad Nessler (play-by-play), Brendan Haywood (analyst), and Dana Jacobson (sideline) on the call.
In addition to Collins' recognition, multiple Wildcats were honored with the release of the 2022-23 Big Ten Men's Basketball Postseason Awards. Senior guard Chase Audige was tabbed the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in addition to receiving Second Team All-Big Ten honors (coaches), while senior guard Boo Buie took home First Team All-Big Ten accolades (media). Chris Lowery, who is in his first season as an assistant coach at Northwestern, was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Howard Moore Assistant Coach of the Year award.
The 2022-23 campaign has been a banner one for the Wildcats, who have posted the second most wins in a single season in program history (21). Reigning Big Ten Head Coach of the Year Chris Collins' squad established a new program record with 12 Big Ten Conference victories as the 'Cats tied for second in the league standings, the program's top Big Ten finish since the 1958-59 season.HEADED TO SACRAMENTO ??
