EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern returns home on Monday to host the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off between the two teams is set for 6:00 with action to be televised on Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats (8-14, 1-10) are back in Evanston after splitting a pair of games on the road, taking down Wisconsin in Madison last Sunday before dropping a game at Penn State on Thursday. They'll face the Huskers for the first time this season on Monday, trailing 8-13 in the all-time series. Nebraska has come out on top of each of the last three meetings, including the most recent meeting at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
In their loss at Penn State, the 'Cats received a pair of double-digit scoring performances from Paige Mott and Caroline Lau. Mott's 12 points extended her double-digit scoring streak to five games, dating back to January 14 at Purdue. The junior is leading the team in scoring during that span with 75 points, and also pacing the group in rebounds over their last five, with 29.
For Lau, the 12 points were good for her third double-digit performance in her last five games. She ranks second behind Mott in scoring since January 14, with a 10.8 points per game average, and leads the team with nine made three pointers and 20 assists in that span.
Nebraska (13-9, 5-6) will search for their second straight win after defeating Michigan State at home on Thursday. The Huskers are 2-3 over their last five, with all three losses coming to ranked opponents.
After Monday's game, the 'Cats will stay at home and prepare to face Maryland on Thursday. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip and will be televised on Big Ten Network.
