‘Cats Eighth Heading Into Final Day of Big Ten Men’s Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Kevin Houseman produced Northwestern's highest finish of the meet so far as the Wildcats head into the final day of competition in Ann Arbor sitting in eighth place with points. Houseman touched the wall fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 51.90.
Marcus Mok finished 14th in a season's best 53.36, while Graysen Bernard (53.60), Connor Morikawa (53.84), and Matthew Lucky (53.99) finished 18th, 20th, and 22nd, respectively. Lucky's performance vaulted him to seventh in program history.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Ben Miller overtook Matt Grevers to move fourth all-time in school history with a 46.94 to finish 14th.
The Wildcats also had two top-16 finishes in the 200-yard freestyle, with Jan Karolczak (1:36.95) and Ben Forbes (1:36.98) finishing 14th and 15th.
Collin Schuster made his second finals appearance of the meet, touching 16th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 48.06.
The 400-yard individual medley saw Tonahuc Zinn jump to seventh in team history when he touched 4th in the C-final in 3:49.29 to finish 20th overall. Tyler Lu (3:51.32) and Ryan King (3:51.78) grabbed 22nd and 23rd in the event.
Northwestern closed out the day with Schuster, Ethan Churilla, Lu and Forbes combining for a place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:19.15.
The championship concludes tomorrow with preliminaries and finals of the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, platform diving and 200-yard butterfly, plus timed finals of the 1650-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.
