Wildcats Sixth Heading into Final Day of B1G Women’s Championships

Miriam Guevara recorded Northwestern's highest finish of the meet as the Wildcats head into the final day of competition in sixth place with 464.5 points.
 
The fifth-year senior swam her second-fastest time ever to grab third in the women's 100-yard butterfly in a time of 51.59.
 
Guevara followed up that performance with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in a personal best of 52.34 to move second all-time in Northwestern history in the event.
 
Ashley Strouse and Hannah Brunzell also contributed a pair of fifth-place finishes for the Wildcats in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.72) and 100-yard breaststroke (59.76).
 
Northwestern had another top-eight finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Lindsay Ervin, Audrey Yu, Jamie Brennan and Ally Larson combining to grab sixth in a time of 1:29.86.
 
The competition concludes tomorrow with preliminaries and finals of the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, platform diving and 200-yard butterfly, plus timed finals of the 1650-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.
