CLEMSON, SC – No. 14 Northwestern heads to South Carolina this weekend to take on Notre Dame and hosts No. 7 Clemson in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The 'Cats will play each team twice, with both games against Clemson streamed live on ACC Network Extra.

The Wildcats open the weekend against Clemson on Friday at 2 p.m. CT, then will take on Notre Dame at 9 a.m. and Clemson again at 2 p.m. on Saturday, before closing the weekend against Notre Dame at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The 'Cats are 14-11 all-time against Notre Dame, having won the previous two of the three previous matchups. The two Midwest rivals last faced-off in South Bend last season, where NU fell 3-2.

Friday's matchup will be the 'Cats first against Clemson in the two programs' histories. A win over the Tigers would make it the second-consecutive season that Northwestern has knocked-off two top-10 opponents in the month of February, having beaten No. 3 UCLA, No. 9 Oregon, and No. 5 Washington in the first month of the season last year.

Northwestern is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla., which included a 10-9 win over No. 6 Texas. Northwestern trailed by five against the Longhorns, but tied the game in the sixth inning thanks to a two-run single by first-year Kelsey Nader and eventually took the lead when Lauren Sciborski scored on a wild pitch.

Nader led the Wildcats with a .455 batting average (5-for-11) and .600 on-base percentage on the weekend. She tallied five hits, four walks, and only one strikeout while starting all four games in right field for the 'Cats. After hitting seventh in the batting order the first three games, the Canton, Mich. native moved up to the two-hole in the finale against Tennessee.

Catcher Jordyn Rudd tallied a .385 batting average (5-for-13), 1.005 OPS, and team-high five RBI in the opening weekend. Rudd is now 48 RBI from tying Garland Cooper's program record of 207 career RBI.

Senior Angela Zedak led NU with a 1.203 OPS on the weekend, blasting the 'Cats only two home runs of the tournament. Zedak opened the scoring against No. 6 Texas with a three-run homer, then launched a solo shot against Missouri.
