"Everything We Need" - By Sydney Supple

"We have everything we need in this room" is a line that Coach Kate repeated over and over.
We full-heartedly believe that.
During our opening weekend, and the first time on the dirt since fall, we saw sparks of who we are and what we want to become. Sometimes the only way you can learn lessons and grow is by stepping on the field and competing. Succeeding and failing are a big part of our game and it is about which team can be most willing to learn and grow from it.
The win over Texas was defining for us as a team–not necessarily because of the outcome, but rather the shared agreement during the duration of the game that this was ours for the taking. There was never a sense of doubt, but an incredible amount of joy and belief that if we kept putting our bodies on the line, we were going to come out on top. That fight we felt in our team is now the standard as to who we should be every single game.
As we step on the field this weekend we have one focus in mind: becoming an even better version of ourselves. All eyes are on how hard we can work on the field, how great of a teammate we can be by connecting with one another, and how competitive we are once we step on the dirt.
For most of us heading to Clemson will be our first time ever in the state of South Carolina, which is just a reminder of what an incredible journey sports can take you on.
Thank you to all of you who are already so invested in our journey, we see you and we appreciate you. The party is just getting started Cats!
Sincerely,
