No. 5 ‘Cats Set To Host Northwestern Duals

Northwestern coming off undefeated weekend at DiCicco Duals
EVANSTON, Ill. (February 1, 2023) – After cruising to a 6-0 finish at the DiCicco Duals this past weekend, No. 5 Northwestern fencing is back home this weekend to host the Northwestern Duals.
LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern got its stay in South Bend, Ind. off to a fast start this past Saturday, sweeping all three weapons en route to a 27-0 blanking of Detroit Mercy. Matching up against Denison, the epee squad enjoyed another perfect outing, while the sabre squad went 8-1 in a 23-4 win.
The 'Cats sabre group was dominant across the next three tilts, posting 9-0 marks in victories over Cleveland State, 22-5, Florida, 25-2, and Wayne State, 23-4. Northwestern's foil crew also finished with an unblemished record in its win over the Gators. In their final matchup of the day, the Wildcats cruised to a 24-3 rout of Lawrence, with the foil group again putting together a 9-0 finish.

Northwestern returns to the familiar sights of Ryan Fieldhouse this weekend, February 4-5, to host the Northwestern Duals.
The 'Cats are slated to face a quartet of ranked foes, highlighted by a matchup with No. 1 Notre Dame on Saturday morning at 10:35 a.m. Northwestern will honor its senior class prior to Sunday's finale against Incarnate Word, with a special pre-dual ceremony scheduled to begin at 12:50 p.m. Admission to both days is free of charge.
