12 ‘Cats slated to see action on Saturday

EVANSTON, Ill. (December 8, 2023) – Northwestern wrestling continues its early-season slate on Saturday when it competes at the Cleveland State Open in Cleveland, Ohio.

12 Wildcats are scheduled to compete inside Woodling Gymnasium, with action set to begin at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Northwestern will be joined at the event by host Cleveland State, Akron, Ashland, Army West Point, Bucknell, Central Michigan, Clarion, Edinboro, Kent State, Lock Haven, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Ohio State, and VMI.

LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern battled a loaded field, featuring 16 ranked foes, last weekend at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas (CKLV) Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev. Trevor Chumbley led the 'Cats, rattling off three straight wins over ranked foes en route to an eighth-place finish at 157 pounds. Maxx Mayfield also enjoyed a winning weekend at 165 pounds, finishing 3-2 overall.
