CHICAGO, Ill. – Northwestern resumes non-conference action on the road but close to home on Wednesday as they get set to take on DePaul at Wintrust Arena. Tip-off between the 'Cats and the Blue Demons is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on Marquee Sports Network.
The 'Cats (3-6) are coming off a competitive conference opener at Maryland, where they played a back-and-forth first half before ultimately falling to the Terrapins, 58-71. They entered halftime within three after getting five or more points from four different players in the first half.
Hailey Weaver led Northwestern scorers in the first half with nine points, and Melannie Daley had a strong second half to finish as the team's leading scorer overall, with 14 points on the day. Weaver and Daley are still the team's first- and second leading scorers this season, at 12.4 and 12.1 points-per-game respectively.
Also in on the offense was first year Casey Harter, who posted her third double-digit scoring game of the season in her first career start. Her ten points were second on the team behind Daley and the pair tied for leading rebounder, with five apiece.
Northwestern will face a 5-5 DePaul team that has gone 4-1 at home, with the lone loss coming at the hands of Michigan State. The Blue Demons have won each of the last seven against Northwestern, including an 81-63 victory over the 'Cats at Welsh-Ryan last December.
Following Wednesday's action, Northwestern will return home to host Bradley on Sunday in their penultimate non-conference matchup. That game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m.
