Ava Earl Set for NCAA Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Ava Earl is set to compete on cross country's biggest stage on Saturday as she heads to the University of Virginia for the NCAA Championships. The women's race will begin at 9:20 a.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and the ESPN app.
Saturday's race will be Earl's second at Panorama Farms this season; she competed with her team at the Virginia Invitational 5k in September and posted a personal-best time of 17:20.2. The junior will suit up for her second NCAA Championship after she finished fourth among Wildcats last season with a time of 21:18.4.
Earl is coming off a strong performance at the Midwest Regional last Friday. With a time of 20:42.3, just four seconds shy of her personal best, she earned an eighth-place finish and an automatic qualification to the NCAA Championships.
As a result of her strong performance, Earl received USTFCCA All-Region honors, the second All-Region award of her career. Earl was one of three Wildcats to receive the award along with Kalea Bartolotto and Katherine Hessler.
With Earl's qualification, Head Coach Jill Miller has sent at least one athlete to the National Championship in each of the last three years.
