EVANSTON, Ill. – Six Northwestern student-athletes from the 2022-23 roster are set to compete at the 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The meet will serve as a selection meet for the 2023 World Championships, 2023 World Junior Championships, LEN U23 Championships, and 2023 Pan American Games.

Hana Shimizu-Bowers will be the first 'Cat in the pool, swimming in the 200-meter butterfly on Tuesday. Shimizu-Bowers will also compete in the 400-meter IM on Thursday. Shimizu-Bowers swam in both the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard IMÂ at Big Ten Championships this season.

Kevin Houseman will also swim in the 200-meter breaststroke. Additionally, Houseman is slated to compete in the 50-meter breaststroke, and 100-meter breaststroke. Houseman placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke at Big Ten Championships and represented Northwestern at NCAA Championships.

Connor Morikawa will compete in the 200-meter breaststroke. Morikawa placed 20th at Big Ten Championships in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Justine Murdock is slated to represent the Wildcats in the 200-meter backstroke, 50-meter backstroke, and 100-meter backstroke. Murdock placed sixth at Big Ten Championships in the 200-yard backstroke. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native represented Northwestern in the 50-yard backstroke, 100-yard backstroke, and 400-yard medley relay at NCAA Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jamie Brennan is scheduled to swim in the 200-meter IM in Indianapolis. The rising sophomore earned All-American honorable mention status at NCAA Championships in the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard freestyle relay and also represented Northwestern in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, and 200-yard IM in Knoxville.

Lindsay Ervin will close out the action from Indianapolis, swimming in the meet's final event, the 50-meter freestyle. Ervin swam in the 50-yard freestyle at NCAA Championships, and, along with Brennan, earned All-American honorable mention status in the 200 and 400-yard freestyle relays.
