EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern looks to build on its 4-1-1 start, its best since 2018, when it hosts No. 6 Stanford on BTN Thursday night at 7 p.m. CT. The Wildcats finish up the weekend by hosting Butler on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT on B1G+.

The Wildcats had are coming off a 2-0-0 week by defeating a pair of Big East opponents. Northwestern came from behind to beat DePaul, 3-1, behind goals from Aurea del Carmen, Emma Phillips, and Josie Aulicino. On Sunday, the Wildcats defeated Xavier, 2-0, behind goals from Rowan Lapi and del Carmen, with Aulicino assisting on both goals.

No. 6 Stanford comes to Evanston boasting a 5-0-0 record, including a win over No. 8 Penn State. The Cardinal are scoring 3.8 goals per game, while surrendering just 0.4. Maya Doms powers the Cardinal offense, starting every game and leading the team in shots, adding two goals and two assists. Elise Evans is the reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, scoring her first collegiate goal in Stanford's 4-1 win over Cal Poly. Stanford went 13-6-1 last year, falling in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to Final Four-participant Santa Clara. Northwestern has a 0-1-0 record against Stanford, with their lone matchup coming in 2011.

Butler will be the third Big East opponent in the last four games for Northwestern, after defeating DePaul and Xavier. Northwestern will be Butler's fourth Big Ten opponent this season. The Bulldogs having a 1-2-0 record against Big Ten foes after beating No. 9 Michigan and falling to Illinois and No. 22 Wisconsin. Katie Soderstrom leads the Bulldogs offensively with five goals and two assists. The Wildcats are 4-1-1 all-time against the Bulldogs, most recently losing 3-1 in Indianapolis last August.

The four-game homestand comes to a close when the Wildcats host Purdue on Sunday, September 18 at 1 p.m. CT on B1G+.
