
Northwestern Volleyball Falls at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Northwestern volleyball team fell to the Illinois Fighting Illini 3-0 (24-26, 18-25, 20-25) Saturday on the road at Huff Hall.
The loss dropped Northwestern's record to 11-3 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten action, while Illinois improved to 7-5 and 2-0 in Big Ten play.
The Wildcats offense was paced by Temi Thomas-Ailara, who finished with 16 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .333, and by Kathryn Randorf, who had 11 while hitting .444. Megan Miller posted a team-high 11 digs. Northwestern received five blocks from Leilani Dodson to lead them defensively.

Northwestern trailed by as many as seven points as Illinois grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Fighting Illini took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Northwestern could not win set three and was swept by Illinois. The Wildcats came up short by the score of 25-20. Illinois grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was tied up six times before the Fighting Illini took over in the second half of the stanza.
