Miami Hits Late Field Goal to Down Northwestern, 17-14

EVANSTON, Ill. - Miami (OH) mounted a 13-play, 58-yard drive, culminating in a 36-yard field goal from with :21 left in the ballgame, as Northwestern lost 17-14 to the RedHawks on Saturday night at Ryan Field.

Ryan Hilinski led Northwestern's passing attack with 257 yards through the air. The signal caller also added one touchdown on the ground, his second-straight game with a rushing touchdown.

Evan Hull led all Wildcats rushers with 62 yards in the contest. Cam Porter also added 42 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging six yards per carry.

Hilinski's most prolific target in the ballgame was Malik Washington, who caught eight passes for 81 yards.

Adetomiwa Adebawore led the Northwestern defensive effort, collecting three tackles, 2.0 TFL, and one sack. Cameron Mitchell added three tackles, 1.0 TFL, one sack, and one forced fumble and Devin O'Rourke had four tackles, 1.0 TFL, and one sack in the loss.

Northwestern took a 7-0 lead over Miami after scoring the game's first points with 3:36 remaining in the first quarter. Miami then tied things up at 7-7 before NU responded with a two-yard touchdown rush from Porter to jump back ahead 14-7.
