'Cats Fall in Midweek Matchup

Chicago, IL - Northwestern fell to UIC 13-0 on Wednesday night in their first road midweek matchup of the 2022 season.
The teams split the season series after the Wildcats claimed a 13-3 victory over UIC when the teams met in Evanston in April.
David Utagawa got the start for Northwestern, striking out one over two innings and allowing two runs. JC Santini reached base twice in his return from a foot injury in the Illinois series, including a hit and a walk in the loss.
Northwestern returns to Big Ten play on Friday when they open a weekend series with Ohio State at 3:30pm CT.
