Northwestern Drops Double Header

Right fielder Jay Beshears had a multi home run effort in the first game with a pair of two-run home runs. He also had a triple, giving him three extra base hits on the day and added four RBIs to his total of 34 on the year. Center fielder Ethan O'Donnell also had a three-hit effort in the game, and now has a .305 batting average this year.
Starting Pitcher Sean Sullivan went five innings and had five strikeouts. In relief, Coby Moe, Jay Beshears, and Reed Smith all had at least one strikeout giving the 'Cats nine in the game.
In the second game of the double-header, second and third baseman Tommy D'Alise had a two-run home run, and a bases clearing triple in the sixth after coming in to pinch hit, giving him a season-high five RBIs in the game. Sophomore infielder Vincent Bianchina collected three hits with a double and an RBI.
Kellen Pate finished the game for the 'Cats, pitching two innings and giving up only one hit to go with his three strikeouts. In his last four innings of relief, he has only given up one run and has five strikeouts in those innings.
The Wildcats will try to take the series finale tomorrow from the Buckeyes on Mother's Day, with first pitch at 1 P.M.
