Evanston, IL - Northwestern Baseball welcomes Purdue to Rocky & Berenice Miller Park for a weekend series with serious Big Ten Tournament implications.
Getting the series underway at 3:30pm on Friday, the 'Cats and Boilermakers will play at 2pm on Saturday afternoon and 1pm on Sunday.
Both teams have seven conference wins and will be eyeing one of the final spots in the conference tournament later this month in Omaha. Purdue (27-16, 7-9) currently holds the final spot in the Big Ten tournament field, with Northwestern (21-23, 7-11) just one game behind the Boilermakers.
The Wildcats rebounded from a difficult weekend with an explosive 21-8 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday night in Franklin. The non-conference win gave Northwestern a season sweep of the Panthers, as Tommy D'Alise, Stephen Hrustich and Anthony Calarco hit homers in a Wildcat slugfest.
Northwestern had yet to drop a home series this season before Ohio State took all three games last weekend. Sean Sullivan and his 5-1 record could help the Wildcats get back on track against Purdue. The first-year from Andover, MA is ninth in the Big Ten in strikeouts.
