College Park, Maryland - The Wildcats will close out the month of April with a Big Ten series against the Maryland Terrapins. Northwestern enters this matchup with a 19-17 record and will hope to extend that winning record in their first game on Friday at 5:30pm CT.
The 'Cats are fresh off of a series win, as they took two out of three in their home series against Michigan State.The 'Cats have gotten it done at the dish throughout the season, but pitching was the story against the Spartans.Two Wildcat pitchers put together great performances. Sean Sullivan pitched 7.1 innings, while only allowing one run and striking out 5, in a 14-2 win. Michael Farinelli put together 8 dominant innings as he allowed one run in a 4-1 victory.
The Wildcats kept it going against Milwaukee in a midweek matchup, shutting out the Panthers in a 8-0 win.
Anthony Calarco has been the Wildcats' go-to guy on offense all year. Calarco is batting .314 on the season and leads Northwestern in RBI's with 38.
Additionally, Ethan O'Donnell has continued to impress throughout in his sophomore season. O'Donnell leads the Cats in home runs (9), and doubles (19). Northwestern will look to him to bring the power to College Park this weekend.
