LINCOLN, NEB. – No. 26 Northwestern completed a successful road trip with a 4-3 comeback win at Nebraska on Sunday afternoon in Lincoln.
The Wildcats improved to 15-7 overall and 5-2 in the Big Ten while dropping the hosts to 6-14 and 2-3 in conference play.
The 'Cats fell behind early after losing the doubles point, but rallied for an impressive win with four of out six players delivering necessary victories.
No. 36 Steven Forman responded first with a straightforward 6-1, 6-1 win over Dario Huber at No. 1 to make it 1-1.
No. 118 Trice Pickens similarly ran out to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 to push the lead to 2-1.
Presley Thieneman finished his strong weekend with a 2-0 record, along with Trice and Steven, after taking care of Victor Moreno Lozana with a 6-4, 6-1 result.
The Huskers battled back in the remaining three matches, which all went to a third set. Despite a strong second set comeback and a successful tiebreak from Simen Bratholm from No. 2 and a first set lead from Felix Nordby at No. 5, the Huskers managed to tie the match at 3-3.
