Wildcats Fall at No. 10 Blue Devils, 4-1

DURHAM, N.C. – Northwestern fell 4-1 to No. 10 Duke on Wednesday afternoon at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center in Durham.

The Wildcats fell to 7-5 while the Blue Devils improved to 11-1.

Christina Hand picked up a win in singles at No. 6, winning 7-5, 6-3 over Eliza Omirou.

Clarissa Hand took the first set off of No. 20 Georgia Drummy, while Syndey Pratt and Ema Lazic both won sets and were leading early in their third sets when the match was clinched.

Cl. Hand and Maria Shusharina picked up a ranked doubles win over the No. 75 duo of Margaryta Bilokin and Eliza Omirou while Briana Crowley and Ch. Hand came just short of a win at No. 3 in a 7-6 (6) set.

The 'Cats are back in action this weekend in Big Ten play when they host Rutgers at noon on Saturday and Maryland at noon on Sunday.
