In his Northwestern debut, Michael Farinelli pitched four innings in the abbreviated seven-inning content and allowed just a pair of runs. The Middlebury transfer struck out three without walking a batter in an efficient performance out of the bullpen.
The second game of the day would include another Northwestern debutant on the mound, as first-year Sean Sullivan got the start in his first college appearance. The Andover, Massachusets native struck out six in three innings of work and allowed just a single earned run.
For the second time this series, Northwestern took an early lead as Jay Beshears slapped an RBI single to put the Wildcats ahead.

Bennett Markinson and Patrick Herrera would extend the Northwestern lead with a pair of doubles in the second inning, before another Calarco RBI made it a 3-0 game.
