“Being ready is a decision.” An Opening Day Letter to 'Cats Fans

Dear Cats Fans,
The wait is finally over, it is GAME DAY! We have been excitedly waiting to take the field and show you the type of team we are. A team that is physical, intentional, and passionate.
The journey began last September when our team sat on the beach alongside Lake Michigan and decided who we wanted to be. As players, we opened up about what we were really good at and what we wanted help with from each other. It was in that moment of letting our guards down, seeing people for their genuine self, and deciding we were going to each help the other person with what they asked for, that allowed us to push each other to become our best version of ourselves. That was the moment we knew we had a chance for something truly special.
Throughout fall and winter, we worked like never before in the weight room and on the field but we also laughed, smiled, and enjoyed the heck out of seeing each other's faces again without a mask. Our hearts have been filled with gratitude for being able to share meals together again, hang out after practice, and build real relationships. Watch for the love our team has for one another to shine through in our play on the field.
Fast forward to this past week of preparation for opening weekend, we have had one saying written on our whiteboard at practice. "Being ready is a decision". Our team has chosen to be ready in how we show up to practice each and every day. Now it is time to show we are ready for game day.
Get ready for a ride this season Cats, it is going to be a good one!
Sincerely,
Sydney #26
