Air Force proceeded to claw their way ahead after halftime, leaving Northwestern trailing 47-45 as the game entered the fourth quarter. Northwestern took advantage of seven Air Force turnovers in the quarter, scoring five points off of takeaways.

The Wildcats narrowed their deficit to 58-57 before going on a 7-0 run to seize a 64-58 lead with eight seconds to go in the contest, a score which would hold for the rest of the game. Northwestern took advantage of nine Air Force turnovers in the quarter, scoring 10 points off of those takeaways.
