EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will wrap up their five-game home stand with a matchup against Valparaiso on Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off between the two teams is set for 2 p.m. with action broadcast on B1G+.
The Wildcats (3-2) will meet the Beacons (2-2) for the fourth time on Tuesday, carrying a 2-1 all-time record into the day. It will be the sixth non-conference game of the year for the 'Cats.
Northwestern will look to keep their first win streak of the season alive after defeating Niagara 76-38 on Tuesday for their second straight victory. The 'Cats were boosted by several stand-out performances, including Courtney Shaw, who collected her second straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Her 4.4 offensive boards per game now lead the Big Ten.
Sydney Wood also had a big day against Niagara as she tied her career high with 19 points. On the other end of the court, she nabbed five steals, which is the most by a Northwestern player in a game so far this year.
Overall, the 'Cats as a team made history on Tuesday, grabbing a program-record 60 rebounds.Their ten blocks as a team was also notable as the most in a game since December 19, 2018.
After Sunday's game, the Wildcats will hit the road for the first time in almost a month to face off with Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The two teams will tip-off at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 4 p.m. CST.
