EVANSTON, -- Northwestern notched a 2-1 win against Wisconsin Friday (Oct. 7) at home at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium to take sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

Northwestern improved to 11-1-2 overall and 5-0-1 in Big Ten play after the win.

Northwestern started the scoring when Meg Boade scored her fifth goal of the season in the 6th minute.

The Wildcats scored again on a goal from Aurea del Carmen -- her fifth goal of the season -- in the 69th minute, assisted by Josie Aulicino.

Wisconsin got on the scoreboard to make it a 2-1 game on Rylee Howard's 74th-minute goal. Neither team scored again in the game.
