Wildcats Down Cardinals and Declaw Jaugars in Home Doubleheader

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern picked up two home wins on Sunday at the Combe Tennis Center, defeating Louisville 4-2 and IUPUI 4-0.
The 'Cats improved to 4-1 on the season after the pair of home wins. They dropped Lousville to 2-2 and IUPUI to 1-1.
In the first match, Northwestern had to play from behind after narrowly missing the doubles point. Steven Forman and Felix Nordby coasted through a 6-1 set at No. 2 doubles.
Trice Pickens continued his hot start to the season with another win in straight sets, a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Tin Chen at No. 3 singles. First year Felix Nordby followed with a straightforward 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4.
Louisville tied the match at 2-2, but Forman restored the Wildcat lead with a speedy third set to overcome Etienne Donnet at No. 1, by a scoreline of 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. Saiprakash Goli clinched the match with his first dual win of a season, a 6-4, 6-4 battle at No. 6 singles.
The 'Cats made quick work of the Jaguars in the second half of the doubleheader. Natan Spear and Pickens opened affairs with a 6-4 win in doubles and Forman and Nordby secured the point with their second doubles win of the day, also by a 6-4 scoreline.
It was a case of deja vu for the Wildcats in singles, with Pickens, Forman and Goli all taking home wins, and in that order for the second match in a row.
Pickens has now won all of his matches this season and is yet to drop a set.
The Wildcats hit the road next weekend for the ITA Kickoff in North Carolina. They face the No. 13 Tar Heels on Saturday and either Arizona State or No. 6 Ohio State on Sunday.
