EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern visits Michigan State on Sunday for a 1 p.m. matinee at the Breslin Center. The game will be streamed on B1G+.

The Wildcats are 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten and are coming off a 68-63 win over Rutgers at home on Thursday.

The 'Cats shot 48% from the field and 43% from deep against the Scarlet Knights, when efficiency was key with limited possessions. NU forced 20 turnovers and forced 23 points off those takeaways.

Senior guard Veronica Burton continued her spectacular senior season with 18 points, nine assists and four steals. She was responsible for 40 points on the night, 58% of the team's total output.

Burton ranks third in the country in win shares with 6.5 and leads the Big Ten with 4.1 steals per game, a figure that ranks third nationally. She also ranks 12th nationally in assists per game and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Sunday features a matchup between two of the top guards in the nation in Burton and Nia Clouden. The two of them rank first and second in the country in free throws made.

Northwestern has won the last three matchups against Michigan State including two trips to the Breslin Center in the past two years. Last year, Northwestern held on to win 63-30 in East Lansing. Burton scored 19 points including 14 free throws made. The 'Cats shot 37 free throws on the night, their highest total in a game in the McKeown Era.

Two Michigan natives will enjoy a homecoming on Sunday in junior Laya Hartman and first-year Jillian Brown. Hartman is from nearby Okemos while Brown is from Grand Rapids, about an hour away by drive.
