EVANSTON, Ill. — The Wildcats return home Wednesday for a showdown with Big Ten foe Maryland. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network and WGN Radio 720 AM.

Northwestern rides a two-game win streak in the all-time series with the Terps into Wednesday night's contest. The 'Cats took care of business in College Park last month, beating the Terps 67-61 to open conference play. Pete Nance led the team with 17 points and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. Boo Buie and Chase Audige also each scored over 10 points in that game.

Before that, Chicago's Big Ten Team prevailed 60-55 over Maryland at Welsh-Ryan Arena last year in a game that Nance, Audige and Buie also led in scoring. Over the last two games in the series, the trio has averaged a combined 44 points per game.

The Wildcats' offense is flying high entering Wednesday. It posted 87 points against No. 13 Ohio State over the weekend, Northwestern's most against a Big Ten opponent since 2017. Ty Berry led the way with a career-high 23 points while Nance and Audige added 20 points apiece. That trio of scorers with over 20 points was Northwestern's first since 2018 and the first in a Big Ten game during the Chris Collins' era.

Nance's 20-point continued a red-hot season for the senior forward. He has scored in double digits in all 13 games this year, with three games over 20 points and three double-doubles. On the defensive side, he leads the team with 94 rebounds and is fifth in the Big Ten with 22 blocks, averaging 1.7 per game. He has averaged 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game against the Terps in his career.

Following the battle with Maryland, Northwestern will hit the road to seek revenge on Michigan State in a rematch of a game that came down to the wire in Evanston earlier this month.
