LAS CRUCES, NM – Northwestern Volleyball is back on the road this weekend for a trio of matches at the Springhill Suites Invitational.
The Wildcats will face off at New Mexico State on Friday morning before traveling to El Paso for an evening showdown at UTEP. Then on Saturday, the Wildcats return to Las Cruces for an afternoon matchup vs. Arizona.
The 'Cats split their pair of non-conference matchups last weekend in Colorado, dropping a five-set match at Northern Colorado before bouncing back with a decisive four-set victory at Colorado State.
A pair of Wildcats tallied 30+ kills over the two matches as Hanna Lesiak finished with 32 kills while Temi Thomas-Ailara finished just behind with 31. Thomas-Ailara also made program history in the Wildcats' win at Colorado State, recording eight aces which marked the most ever by an NU player in a four-set match as well as the first time in 32 years a Wildcat reached that mark.
Also turning in a masterful performance at setter was Alexa Rousseau, who notched the first triple-double by any Big Ten player this season last Friday as she recorded 43 assists to go along with a career-high 10 kills and 15 digs.
