Glencoe, Ill. - Northwestern Men's Golf used a strong final round to climb up the leaderboard at the Windon Memorial, finishing second in a field that included 12 of the nation's top 50 programs.

The host Wildcats were powered by impressive rounds from Varun Chopra and David Nyfjäll, as both players recorded top-ten performances at Lake Shore Country Club. Chopra's strong second round 66 (-5) positioned him among the leaders, while Nyfjäll shot a 68 (-3) in the tournament's final round to move up 15 spots on Tuesday morning.

It was Northwestern's best finish at the event since 2017, when the Wildcats won the Windon Memorial.

Eric McIntosh (-2) and Cameron Adam (-1) also carded strong performances in Glencoe, helping Northwestern place four golfers in the tournament's top 20, all of whom saved some of their best golf for the final day of the Windon. That's when Northwestern moved up three spots on the team leaderboard to take second at their only home event of the 2021 season.

The Wildcats return to the course next week on Long Island, when Northwestern competes in the Hamptons Intercollegiate.
