'Cats Roll Past Ohio 35-6 in Non-Conference Finale

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern defeated Ohio 35-6 at Ryan Field on Saturday, behind a season-high 216 yards from sophomore Evan Hull.
Hull's monster day included the longest Northwestern rushing touchdown in 80 years, a 90-yard scamper to put the Wildcats up 14-0 in the second quarter and help the 'Cats pick up their second win of the season.
While the running game powered the Wildcats to their second-straight win at Ryan Field, the defense forced three Ohio turnovers in an impressive performance.
Chris Bergin stepped up once again for the 'Cats on defense, as the Big Ten's leading tackler posted a career-high 15 tackles (12 solo) to keep the Bobcats contained. Coco Azema also recovered the first fumble of his career in the first quarter, adding a career-high six solo tackles.
AP First Team Preseason All-American Brandon Joseph snagged his first interception of the season in the fourth quarter.
Charlie Kuhbander's 40th all-time field goal, a 24-yard attempt in the second quarter, tied Jack Mitchell for fourth all-time in program history and put the Wildcats up 17-0.
Andrew Clair added 71 yards as the Wildcats gashed Ohio for 373 rushing yards as a team. In his first start as a Wildcat, South Carolina transfer Ryan Hilinski threw for 88 yards on 12/20 passing.
Northwestern travels to Lincoln on Saturday to begin Big Ten play at Nebraska. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
