No. 4 Wildcats Rout UC-Davis, 7-1

DAVIS, Calif. – No. 4 Northwestern opened its west coast road trip with an emphatic 7-1 victory on Friday evening over UC-Davis.
The Wildcats led wire-to-wire, scoring 40 seconds into the game and holding UC-Davis without a shot on goal up until 14 seconds remaining in the game. All-in-all, the 'Cats outshot the Aggies, 27-4, including a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Liese Wareham and Maren Seidel turned in multi-goal efforts for the 'Cats, while three other Wildcats chipped in with a goal of their own.
Clara Roth kicked off the scoring for the 'Cats just 40 seconds into the game for her fifth goal of the season. Wareham extended the lead to two just under six minutes into the game, while Alia Marshall scored the third goal of the first quarter on a shot from the right side.
Wareham scored the Wildcats' lone goal of the second quarter, it marked her fifth goal of the season, extending what was already a career high for the senior captain that had not scored a goal prior to this season.
Maren Seidel gave the 'Cats a quick 6-0 advantage to open the second half with a pair of goals in the span of three minutes. It marked the second multi-goal performance of the season for the senior Seidel.
Chloe Relford finished off the scoring for the 'Cats in the fourth quarter with her third goal of the season.
Annabel Skubisz turned in a scoreless first half in the net before turning over goalkeeper duties to Jamie Marold.
Northwestern is back in action on Sunday as the No. 4-ranked 'Cats travel to Berkeley to face off against California at 2 pm CT.
