Wildcats Take Two of Three at UniWyo Invite

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Northwestern volleyball took two of three matches in its final non-conference road trip this weekend. The Wildcats swept Missouri, 3-0, on Friday afternoon before defeating the hosts, Wyoming, in four sets on Friday evening.
Temi Thomas-Ailara and Desiree Becker led the way for the 'Cats, with each earning a spot on the UniWyo Invite All-Tournament Team.
Thomas-Ailara posted double digit kills in each of Northwestern's three matches, including a .417 clip with 13 kills in the win over Missouri followed by a .360 hitting percentage and 12 kills vs. Wyoming.
Becker led the Wildcats with six total blocks vs. Missouri, followed by seven blocks later that evening against Wyoming.
Defensively, Megan Miller led the 'Cats once again throughout the weekend as she posted double-digit kills in all three matches. Miller now leads the team with 118 digs (3.58 per set) on the season.
The 'Cats dropped their Saturday afternoon affair with UCSB, 3-1. Hanna Lesiak led NU with 13 kills on the match, while Alexa Rousseau posted a double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs. At setter, Rousseau led the Wildcats assists in all three of their matches, averaging 39.3 assists over the weekend.
Northwestern will return home next weekend to wrap up its non-conference slate. The Wildcats will host UIC on Friday, followed by matchups with DePaul and Loyola Chicago on Saturday.
