EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball announced its non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season, featuring the return of fans to Welsh-Ryan Arena for the first time since raising the 2020 Big Ten Championship Trophy.

Fans looking to watch one of the most exciting programs in college basketball, coming off a historic NCAA Tournament win in 2021 and a Big Ten Championship in 2020, in person for the first time in 21 months, can purchase season tickets here.

Head coach Joe McKeown and his staff have put together an extremely competitive slate this season, featuring seven regular season non-conference home games at Welsh-Ryan Arena, a trip to Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands during Thanksgiving weekend, and two road trips featuring a longstanding rivalry and the return of the ACC/B1G Challenge.

The seven game home non-conference slate is undoubtedly headlined by a marquee matchup of two top-eight 2021 NCAA Tournament seeds on Dec. 21, when the 'Cats welcome Oregon to Welsh-Ryan Arena. Among other storylines in the tantalizing headliner of the schedule, the game features the reunion of senior superstar Veronica Burton and Ducks forward Sedona Prince, who shared the court together this summer for USA Basketball, winning a gold medal at the FIBA AmeriCup.

Additionally, The Wildcats will test themselves with one of the most challenging holiday tournament fields in program history at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands during Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 25-27). The Wildcats will take on South Dakota, who made the 2021 NCAA Tournament, Pittsburgh in a rematch of the 2018 ACC/B1G Challenge, and Texas A&M, who reached the Sweet 16 in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and is a perennial SEC powerhouse. Fans looking to follow the Wildcats during an exciting week can do so here.

Northwestern welcomes fans to Welsh-Ryan Arena for the first official contest against crosstown foes UIC on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The 'Cats have won their last 12 season openers under McKeown. Fans looking to see the Wildcats even earlier can attend the exhibition on Nov. 7 against Parkside.

There are two more opportunities to see the Wildcats in Evanston in November, with UCSB facing off against the 'Cats on Nov. 14, and Loyola Chicago coming to Welsh-Ryan Arena on Nov. 17. The Ramblers present another opportunity for a Chicago rivalry win, but also the return of program greats Abi Scheid and Maggie Lyon to the sidelines, albeit for the opposing team, as both sharpshooters are on head coach Kate Achter's staff.

Fans can make the short trek to historic McGrath Phillips Arena with the Wildcats for their first road game of the season on Nov. 21 as the Northwestern-DePaul rivalry makes its hotly anticipated comeback. The 2019 edition was a classic in Evanston coming down to the final seconds, and the Wildcats are poised for a 2021 showdown with the Blue Demons. The Central-Fullerton subway series will also mark another chapter between opposing numbers McKeown and Doug Bruno, two of the most successful active coaches in women's basketball.

After the trip to to Paradise Jam, the 'Cats will take their second true road trip on Nov. 2 to Clemson, S.C. to face the Tigers in the return of the ACC/B1G Challenge. The 'Cats most recently knocked off Boston College in the Challenge in 2019 as the Big Ten claimed its first victory by 9-5 over its Atlantic Coast counterparts.

The Wildcats then have four home non-conference games in December culminating with the showdown against the Ducks. Fans can see Northwestern take on Delaware on Dec. 11, Milwaukee on Dec. 14 and Temple on Dec. 17 before Oregon caps off the nonconference schedule on Dec. 21

In what promises to be a memorable year for one of the best stories in college basketball, fans can secure in-person access to the Wildcats here.
