GREENSBORO, NC -- Northwestern concluded competition at the NCAA Championships Saturday in 16th place with 96 points, both bests for the Wildcats since their dominant 2000 season. In all, Chicago's Big Ten Team earned All-American honors in four events, secured Honorable All-American honors in eight events and broke four school records over the course of the championships.

First-year Lola Mull headlined the final day of competition, earning All-American honors in the 1650 free at her first NCAA Championships. The Portland, Michigan native touched in 16:04.11 to take eighth in the event, beating her previous season-best time by over four seconds. Mull entered NCAAs coming off an impressive performance at the Big Ten Championships last month where she took home the bronze medal in the 1650.

Northwestern picked up two more individual Honorable All-American nods Saturday with Hannah Brunzell and Maddie Smith recognized in the 200 breast and 100 free, respectively. Brunzell took home 10th in the 200 breast with an earth-shattering 2:06.60 swim in finals to set a new school record. It marked Brunzell's second record-breaking swim of this year's NCAA Championships after she set a new Northwestern record in the 100 breast yesterday. She also earned Honorable All-American honors for that event.

Smith finished in 11th place in the 100 free to secure her Honorable All-American honors. The senior put together a remarkable weekend in North Carolina, most notably finishing seventh in the 50 free to receive an All-American award.

The 'Cats closed the competition with yet another Honorable All-American accolade after the 400 free relay comprised of Selen Ozbilen, Ally Larson, Annika Wagner and Smith touched in 3:14.58 for 13th place and eight points. All four relay teams Northwestern sent to the NCAA Championships took home top-15 national finishes.

Northwestern had three other swimmers compete Saturday with Emma Lepisova in the 200 back and Larson and Miriam Guevara in the 200 fly.

Representing the 'Cats in the platform dive, Jaye Patrick and Leah Parsons both took home top-25 national finishes.

The men's team is set to compete at the same site next weekend with three swimmers representing the Purple and White.
