'Cats Open 2021 Men's Big Ten Championships with School Record

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | FULL RESULTS

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern men's swimming program opened the 2021 Big Ten Championships by posting a school-record time in the 800 free relay.

Northwestern's foursome of Aleksa Bobar, Connor Lamastra, Benjamin Forbes and Liam Gately touched the wall at the 6:20.24 mark in the 800 to post a school record and a fifth-place finish. The Wildcats turned in a ninth-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

Northwestern sits in fifth place after day one with 187 point.

The Wildcats return to the pool tomorrow for the 200 IM, 50 free and 500 free.
