
Wildcats Drop Overtime Battle to Penn State

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats fell 1-0 to Penn State in a thrilling overtime contest in the first game back at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium since Nov. 10, 2019.
After 90 minutes of scoreless play, Penn State quickly broke the deadlock with a goal 1:42 into overtime to end the game.
Northwestern's defense was terrific, holding Penn State scoreless for the 90 minutes of regulation time. Graduate student Ethan Bandre made six saves in his third start for the 'Cats.
The entire Wildcats back line, led by Jack Ratterman and Julian Zighelboim, played all 92 minutes of the game.
Ugo Achara Jr. was dangerous upfront but could not convert on any of his game-high three shots.
The Wildcats look to get back on track as they travel to Bloomington on Tuesday to take on Indiana.
