EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern hits the road this weekend for two Big Ten contests. The 'Cats travel to College Park to take on Maryland at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, then head to University Park to battle No. 13 Penn State at 6 p.m. Ct on Saturday.
Northwestern is 6-9 on the season and coming off a weekend split of Big Ten games. The 'Cats picked up their first conference win of the season on Friday, sweeping Rutgers in front of the home fans at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Temi Thomas-Ailara led the team in kills, digs, and blocks en route to the Wildcat win.
The 'Cats dropped a tight contest against Minnesota on Saturday, 2-3, failing to capitalize after winning the first two sets.
Thomas-Ailara has been dominant for Northwestern this season, leading the conference with 276.5 points and is second in kills with 228.
The Wildcats have won two of their past three matchups against Maryland, while dropping their only matchup with Penn State the past two seasons.
