Four 'Cats in Action at ITA Midwest Regionals

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Northwestern men's tennis kicks off the 2021-22 campaign with four 'Cats headed to East Lansing for the ITA Midwest Regional Championships.
Graduate Brian Berdusco, senior Simen Bratholm, senior Steven Forman and senior Trice Pickens will compete at the competition hosted by Michigan State. All four players will be competing in the singles and doubles draws, with Berducso and Bratholm as one pair and Forman and Pickens as the other.

The ITA Midwest Regional Championships features 16 teams in Illinois, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Western Michigan, Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Youngstown State, DePaul, Cleveland State, Marquette, Michigan State, Illinois State, Toledo, Wisconsin, Eastern Illinois, and Chicago State. Winners of the finals in the main draw of singles and doubles will qualify for the ITA Championships in San Diego in November.
Forman is ranked 94th in the ITA Preseason Top 125 for singles. Berdusco and Bratholm are ranked 56th in the Preseason Top 60 doubles rankings.
Berdusco comes to the Wildcats ahead of the 2021-22 season from the University of Florida. He set a career-high with five dual match doubles wins last season en route to winning the first national championship in school history.
Forman finished the 2020-21 season 6-2 in singles and Bratholm finished 5-4 in singles. Pickens finished third on the team last season with nine wins. Berdusco/Bratholm will play their first doubles match together. Bratholm went 11-6 in doubles matchups last season.
